On the 26th-28th July 2022, the State Inspection and Anti-Corruption Authority and ILSTA held a workshop on Anti-Corruption and International Best Practice for Inspection Officials for 80 government inspection officials from Luang Namtha and Bokeo Provinces.
The three-day workshop presented the international legal framework against corruption, UNCAC, to which Lao PDR became a party to in 2009, and the Lao national legal framework against corruption, consisting of the 2014 Law on Anti-Corruption and the Lao Penal Code 2017. Participants took part in a case study and exchanged experiences on challenges faced by inspection officials.
The workshop was chaired by Dr. Boualapha Bavongphet, Vice President of State Inspection and Anti-Corruption Authority, Mr. Sivilay Phankeo, President of the State Inspection Authority of Luang Namtha province, and Mr. John Connolly, Director of ILSTA.
