The second Lao–Thai prosecutorial meeting on transnational crime took place in Khon Kaen, Thailand, on 12–13 March 2026. Its theme was cooperation against cybercrime.
Richard Philippart represented ILSTA alongside delegations from the Lao Supreme People’s Procuracy, Thailand’s Office of the Attorney General (OAG), border-area prosecutors, UNODC and Luxembourg’s Embassy.
Discussions addressed scam centres, investigation and prosecution, the UN Convention against Cybercrime, and mutual legal assistance (MLA). Participants exchanged practical experience on responding to crimes that cross national borders.
